Tryouts are now moved to the last week of February for Boys golf 2021

Below is a list of criteria to make the team.

New players need to email Coach McCabe [email protected] and sign up for golf.

THE LAST DAY FOR SIGN UPS IS JAN 22.

EMAIL COACH MCCABE BY THAT DAY.

All players need to communicate any tournaments that you participate in to COACH TUCK.

All players need to complete their athletic clearance in preparation for this season. All players need to do a new athletic clearance for this year on athleticclearance.com

Welcome to Diamond Bar Golf.

We have a tradition of great players and great teams. We hope for you, that this will be the beginning of a great career at Diamond Bar High School. We have two teams (Varsity, JV) which provide a level of play for any player interested in playing golf.

 You must have completed the athletic clearance to participate in golf.

Tryouts are the LAST week of February 2021 for Boys Golf.

I will consider an email your intent to sign up.

Next step is to qualify.

You make the team and will be placed in the 6th period golf class if you do one of the following:

1. Qualify for an AJGA event, (even in the last two years or moving forward)

2. Qualify for a Toyota Tour Cup event in the last two years.

3. Finish in the top 5 in a SCPGA event.

4. Make the team with two qualifying scores from tryouts.

Depends on the number of people trying out.

The Scores for making the team are as follows:

Incoming freshman 50

Sophomores 48

juniors 46

Seniors 44.

Here is the final awards for the 2020 season. We are sad to see our seniors go. The class of 2020 has left a great legacy and was able to build on the great tradition established in OUR boy's golf program.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARDS

HALL OF FAME AWARD

This special award presented to a senior athlete (s) who has brought special recognition to their sport through their attitude, effort and performance. Hall of Fame Award recipients receive a Lifetime Pass to all Brahma home athletic events for the Student-Athlete and one guest. (CIF play-off games exclude.)

This award is presented by the head coach and coaching staff. Recipients names placed on the perpetual plaque located in the administration building.

Ethan Thomas 4 years Varsity Starter, 2 time All League, Finished top 3 in 5 tournaments, starter on 2019 CIF Runner Up team, starter on 3 league championship teams, varsity team captain and outstanding team leader.

Leo Lu 4 years Varsity Starter, 3 time All League, made State Individuals 2018, starter on 2019 CIF Runner Up team, starter on 3 league championship teams, varsity team captain and a great influence on the program.

MASTER OF SPORTS AWARD

A special certificate presented to all senior student-athletes who have participated in the same sport for all four years of high school. All award recipients earn the right to wear a silver honor cord at their graduation ceremony. Cords may be purchased in the Student Store (Cost $10)

BRAHMAS SCHOLAR-ATHLETE PATCHThis award presented to all varsity letter winners who earn a minimum 3.0 GPA at the end of each semester. Athletes may purchase patches in the Student Store (Cost $11)

VARSITY LETTERMAN

When a varsity athlete meets the criteria as listed by the head coach he or she earns the right to wear a DBHS varsity letter and to purchase a varsity letter jacket. The criteria to earn a varsity letter may differ from sport to sport as determined by the head coach of the sport. At the conclusion of the season head coaches send a list of letter winners to the athletic office. Being a member of a varsity team does not automatically qualify an athlete for a varsity letter. Letters purchased in the USB student store for $10. Varsity letters awarded after the sport season is over, not during the season.

THREE-YEAR VARSITY LETTERMAN AWARD

This award presented to those seniors who have earned a varsity letters in the same sport for a minimum of three years. The award is a Lifetime Pass to all Brahma home athletic events for the student-athlete and one guest. (CIF play-off games excluded.)

TRI-SPORT ATHLETE AWARD CERTIFICATE

This certificated presented to those student-athletes who participate in three sports during the school year at any level of completion (Varsity, JV, Frosh/Soph or Frosh).

TRI-SPORT LETTERMAN PATCH

This is one of the most prestigious awards at DBHS and presented at the end of each school year at the annual DBHS Awards Night. To qualify for this patch an athlete must earn a varsity letter in three varsity sports during the school year. Tri-sport Letterman Patches presented at no cost to the athletes.

The season 2020 for Boy's Golf is now closed.

No more practices, matches or tournaments involving the school team or CIF SS.

You may do any individual practice or competitions as you deem fit, but there are no requirements from Diamond Bar High School Boys Golf.

There will be updates and information on this page as well as emails in the next few weeks.

Those players who are in the 6th period athletics class do not have anything to do at this time.

Freshman testing is complete.
