Orchestra

The Diamond Bar High School Orchestra is comprised of string players, freshmen through seniors. This orchestra works on many of the fundamental playing skills, including bowing techniques, vibrato, and shifting as it performs both string and full orchestra repertoire.

Objectives:

1. For students of all ability levels to enjoy performing music from a variety of style periods and genres - classical, folk, jazz and contemporary styles. (To have fun in the process of making music!)

 2. For students to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the role music and the arts play in our society.

3. For students to learn the benefits and challenges of working together toward a common goal (i.e. public performances).

4. For students to grow in their individual study of an instrument. Students will grow in their technique and musicality.

5. For students to develop their listening skills in large and small group settings, using a variety of instructional methods and rehearsal techniques.
