Greetings Diamond Bar students and parents! I'm excited to meet you and I look forward to working with you. I am committed to supporting all students in my position as Wellness Center Coordinator and I am equally committed to sharing my passion for English with my students in the classroom. I'm eager to share everything I know about living a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life with all learners at Diamond Bar High School.

My passion for reading and writing started when I was a child. I read many wonderful books and dreamed of writing my own books someday. I majored in English at the University of La Verne, then I went on to earn my Master's Degree in Education. Currently, I'm pursuing a second Master's Degree in School Counseling. Being an English teacher has been a tremendously gratifying and enjoyable aspect of my life for the past twenty-plus years because I get to share great literature with students and I coach them in how to become confident writers. Now that I'm also the Wellness Center Coordinator, I'm eager to pursue another of my passions--psychology. Being able to educate the WHOLE child is important to me; I know that a strong connection between students and teachers goes a long way in keeping students engaged, motivated, and inspired.

Aside from my time in the Wellness Center and in the classroom, I'm an avid runner. I believe that staying active is an integral part of living a healthy lifestyle. During the school year, I often share stories of my running adventures with my students, hoping to inspire them to get out there and exercise.

When I'm not teaching or running, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two children. My family and I are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy the mountains, the beach, and the desert. We love to travel and to experience new things.

I sincerely strive to bring my charisma and athleticism to the Wellness Center and the classroom. My love of literature, my belief in educating the WHOLE student, and my passion for self-improvement drive me to perform at my best, always looking for new and better ways to teach and connect with students. I look forward to working with you and I welcome the challenge to make students more skilled and more worldly by May than they were when they entered school in the fall. Together with your support, we can achieve new heights this year and beyond.
